Common Search Problems
- Watch the punctuation! If you type in "Oakland Ave." and the database lists it as "Oakland Ave" then it will not locate the shop because of the period (.) you entered. Your best bet is to leave out punctuation altogether.
- Sometimes shops have official names, as they are listed in our membership records, which are not the same as their more common, unofficial nicknames.
- Stick to root words to be safe. You don't have to spell out the entire name of a shop to locate it. If you search under "joe's" it will locate Joe's Body Shop, Joe's Autobody, etc.
- Be careful with "city" searches. Shops are categorized by the city of their mailing address. To be safe, it's better to do a Zip Code search using only three or four digits.
