The Automotive Service Association (ASA) Internet Privacy Policy Statement discloses how ASA protects the privacy of visitors to its Web site. ASA has created this statement to demonstrate its commitment to its members' and visitors' right to privacy. The following information discloses ASA's information gathering and dissemination practices for its Web site: www.asashop.org. Because of the site's interactive capabilities through information request forms, convention registrations, and surveys, ASA has various sources to obtain presonal information. All information collected by ASA is stored in a central database, although secondary databases may be maintained through various departments.

Availability
ASA will post this statement on its Web sites (www.asamichigan.com and www.asashop.org) and it will be linked from the home page and from any page where information may be collected.

Information Collected by ASA
For each visitor to our Web site, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor's IP address, referring site URL, time and date. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and gather demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

If you supply us with your postal address online, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new benefit providers or upcoming events. Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online may receive telephone contact from us in regards to the requested information. Names and contact information of prospective members are stored in our central database but will not be sold to other companies.

Upon request, we provide site visitors with access to all information that we maintain about them, unique identifier information (i.e. user name and password) that we maintain about them, communications that the member/visitor has directed to our site, and contact information that we maintain about them. Upon request, we offer visitors the ability to have contact information inaccuracies corrected. Cookies
The ASA Web site currently does not set cookies on a user's hard drive.

Security
When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information, such as credit card information, we redirect visitors to a secure server. Notification of this redirection will occur through a pop-up screen on our site.

Convention & Event Registrations
Online registration is available for all ASA-sponsored conventions. Personal information supplied to ASA is used to send pertinent information to prospective registrants and then disregarded. Once registration occurs, all information supplied is held in a separate database to be used for future mailings. This database is not sold to a third party. Upon request, information can be removed from this database by calling (800) 272-7467, ext. 295, or by e-mail at asai...@asashop.org.
